Enables people to build lasting peace through a proven and recognized approach. Interpeace is an independent international peacebuilding organization established by the United Nations in 1994. History shows that peace is possible and that there are solutions to be found in even the most difficult conflicts. Through more than 20 years of peacebuilding experience, Interpeace has learned that peace cannot be imported from the outside; it must be built from within. For this reason, Interpeace tailors its approach to each society. Its initiatives have established processes of change that connect local communities, civil society, government, and the international community in over 21 countries in Africa, Asia, Central America, Europe, and the Middle East. Interpeace is headquartered in Geneva and has offices in Belgium, Côte d’Ivoire, Guatemala, Kenya, Sweden, and the United States.
